Methane

MethaneĀ is not done on site andĀ is subcontracted..

If you suspect your well water contains methane you should have it tested for dissolved methane. You should also consider having your well inspected by a licensed well driller

Methane (CH4) is a naturally occurring chemical that is odorless, colorless, and tasteless. Methane is the main component of natural gas and can create a dangerous environment due to its combustibility. Methane in groundwater is not explosive but when it comes into contact with the air it escapes from the water and the gas can be flammable.

There are no federal limits (MCL) for methane in drinking water but the US Department of the Interior, Office of Surface and Mining recommends that Owners of wells with methane concentrations greater than 28 mg/L should contact the local department of health immediately for further assistance. Methane concentrations between 10-28 mg/L should be monitored for any changes. And concentrations less than 10 mg/L are considered safe and do not require action.
